Gucci Diamonds
These are photographs of more than 300 individual panes of ‘pavement lights’, heavy glass window blocks set into concrete adjacent to the outer walls of shops to provide light to basements.
The particular panes are outside the Gucci store on London’s Old Bond Street, where, in contrast to other premises in the area, the blocks are nearly all cracked, creating unique crystalline images reminiscent of rough diamonds, landscapes, the austere gestures of minimalist abstract art, static across obsolete vacuum-tube TV screens, or the tracks in a particle accelerator’s bubble chamber.

One print only of each image is available. The last two are the only ‘flawless’ panes found outside the Gucci store. Please email to enquire about availability or a purchase.
